Friday, October 7, 2011Are you a fan of sci-fi cosplay and shows like Heroes, The X Files, 24, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Then you’ll want to keep an eye on news surrounding this topic. The ABC Network has put together quite the team to develop its new sci-fi drama pilot “Ex Comm.” “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau, “Star Trek” scribe Roberto Orci, “Robot Chicken” creator Seth Green and “X2: X-Men United” co-scribe Michael Dougherty have all come together to work on the series.
Four members of this sort of sci-fi dream team will write and executive produce the potential pilot while Favreau, who recently sold another show “Tweaked” to CBS, has been signed on as its official director.
According to recent reports, the “Ex-Comm” story will follow a newly-elected President and his top secret “Executive Committee,” the government’s covert team of America’s most elite minds who investigate and protect our nation from strange, and perhaps supernatural, occurrences. ABC insiders are saying that despite the sci-fi “X-Files” style, the show will also have a grounded humorous tone. This mix might remind you somewhat of hit series “Heroes.”
Since the pilot’s airing schedule or whether or not it even will air has not been released, sci-fi and ABC fans are keeping a close eye on any news the network puts out. For sci-fi drama fans everywhere, the release of this pilot would certainly add some interesting flavor to life, if not just to show what such a dream team of producers can produce. The show also has great potential to produce some new costume or cosplay crazes due to all the new characters it would introduce.
