Green Convention Scene

A visit to Convention Scene Magazine showed us that this weekend, March 11 – 13th you can attend Animeland Wasabi in Denver, CO, or a Gaming Convention in Boston, MA, or even get Kevin Smiths autograph if you’re in Indianapolis or Kansas City, MO. And Containment told us about Madicon, a gaming, fantasy and sci-fi con at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. (NOT in Madison, Wisconsin, as you might guess.)

Next weekend, along with celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday, you have even more variety to choose from. There are 2 anime conventions on their calendar, plus FIVE Comicons and 2 sci-fi cons!

For anime, manga and cosplay fans, there’s A&G Ohio and Toronto Anime Con. For comic fiends, here’s the list of five:

1. C2E2 Comicon in Chicago

2. Wizard World Toronto

3. SPACE (Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo) in Colombus, OH

4. Captain's Comic Expo in Charleston, South Carolina

5. Lehigh Valley Comic Con in Schnecksville, PA

And then for sci-fi fanatics, you can go to All-Con in Addison, TX or Vericon X at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.

SO, we think you should work copious amounts of the color green into your costumes, whether you’re going costumed as an anime, superhero or science fiction character, or some variation thereof.

  • Anime fans could go as Yusuke Urameshi from YuYu Hakusho, or perhaps Naruto’s Nara Shikamaru (Part II).

  • Comic fans might want to take advantage of the wave of green superheroes to hit the cinema lately and be either the Green Hornet or the Green Lantern.

  • And Sci-Fi aficionados could go as Star Wars characters Boba Fett (there’s some green) or a tall Yoda!

Wearing green ensures you won’t get pinched, but then again, you might like that sorta thing!
