Upcoming June Cosplay Opportunities

Coming up this weekend, June 11 – 13, you can cosplay in Virginia and/or Kentucky at either Anime Mid-Atlantic in any of their handful of costume events, including Cosplay Chess. The deadline for pre-con signups is June 10th by 4PM, so hurry! Or you might catch OMGcon in Paducah, KY. If you’re on the other side of the nation, cosplay at the Pahrump Anime Fest in Pahrump, Nevada.

Next weekend the 18th – 20th, you can play in New Jersey, Minnesota, Iowa or Oklahoma.

AnimeNEXT - in New Jersey has a Masquerade, a Hall Costume Contest, Hangry & Angry Model Contest, LARP, Cosplay Dating Game and Cosplay Human Chess. Sounds like you could spend the whole weekend in costume!

Minneapolis Anime Con - “The MAC Cosplay Competition is broken down into two parts. The first part which is judged and that is the costume competition. Which also has a cash prize offered to the top three places. The second part of the competition is for fun only, and that’s the skit portion.”

QC Anime-zing! in Bettendorf, Iowa.
The QC stands for Quad Cities, and if you’re from the area, you know what they are. They’ll be having a Hall Cosplay Contest and a Masquerade. The link above will tell you all about it. Also, QC Anime-zing! will be held in The Lodge - perfect for steampunk, Hellsing, and other cosplay photoshoots.

Tokyo In Tulsa will be hosting three contests: a Main Cosplay, Hall Cosplay and Skit Cosplay Contest. Plus some Loli Tea Parties! The theme for this year’s Tokyo in Tulsa is Steampunk so they’ll also be having a Steampunk masquerade where steampunk or Victorian Formal attire with a mask is preferred, but not entirely required. Formal wear based off of an Anime Character cosplay, Sci fi, or an appropriate video game is also acceptable.
