The first ever Pasadena Rock'n Comic-Con has been set for Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2010 at the Pasadena Convention Center. The Wrap.com says the “Pasadena Rock’n Comic Con gathers local top talents from the Arts, Music, Dance Performance, Major Animation & Film Studios, all at one exciting Media & Entertainment Convention.”
They’ve got Stan Lee, Marvel Comics creator, to cut the ribbon and take part in a panel honoring "Captain America's" 70th anniversary. Convention Scene.com says Stan will be drastically limiting his signing appearances in 2010, making this a rare, not-to-be-missed opportunity.
Marvel Comics artist-writer Jim Steranko will also be on hand. Steranko, a comic book hall-of-famer, worked on "Captain America," "Nick Fury" and "X-Men" at Marvel, then on films like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola.
Proceeds from many events will help benefit music and art programs for schools, colleges and other various charities. While some participating musicians from the Rock Concert Jam will be playing for their favorite charities, other artists from various media have donated autographs, signed musical instruments, CD’s, signed artwork, books, or other items to be auctioned or raffled.
And most importantly, to our readers, they’ll be having a Masquerade Costume Contest and Parade!
