Itching for an excuse to leave the country, but don’t want to miss out on any opportunities to cosplay? Well, the month of May is full of European cosplay cons!
The weekend of May 7 – 9 alone gives you a choice of the Czech Republic, Denmark or Germany. If you really want to, you could make it to all three! (Look at a map, they’re not that far apart.) Of course, you’ll have to use Google translate to understand their web pages.
Anime Cons.com has cosplay, and a maid and butler cafe. SVSCon in Denmark has a blurb that free translation.com tells us, in a nutshell, that “the main focus to SVScon is cosplay.” And Hanami in Germany has all kinds of cosplay events.
Of course, if you miss those, or just want to extend your European vacation, there’s also JapAniManga Night May 15-16 in Zurich, Switzerland. They speak German there too, so if your German language skills are up to speed, you could just do the last two. Here’s the Google translation of one JapAniManga page:
Also this year, not missing the cosplay competition. Would you put your costume to prove? Then take it at the Cosplay Competition! You can spot you or your group sign up and participate. The best and most original costume is elected by our famous three-member jury. Here are this year’s rules:Sound fun? Make sure your passport is up to date, pack your favorite cosplay costumes, and off you go!
